Espaces est un voyage musical intersidéral composé avec une série d’informations transmises vers la Terre par les instruments de mesure des sondes Voyager et Pioneer 10, ou encore par le rover martien Pathfinder.
Avec pour volonté de faire résonner la raison, Espaces propose une relecture sensible d’une série de données brutes à la vocation initialement scientifique.

"Le lien de causalité est binaire. En dématérialisant ses activités, en numérisant ses relations sociales, ses divertissements, ses activités commerciales, l’humain se retrouve de facto dans un environnement où les données numériques, ces assemblages de codes informatiques formés de suites de 0 et de 1, dominent et se multiplient de manière exponentielle. Or, dans un monde où le texte, l’image, le son, la vidéo, l’échange, le réel est appréhendé par ces assemblages de chiffres, le sensible peut-il encore trouver sa place au milieu de tant de froideur mathématique et calculante ? Oui, répond le jeune compositeur montréalais Guillaume Pascale, qui a décidé de traquer la poésie qui se trouve dans ces amas de données informatiques, et ce, à des endroits où on l’attend le moins : les informations transmises à la Terre depuis l’espace par les sondes spatiales Voyager 2 et Pioneer 10. Espaces is an intersidereal musical journey composed with a series of information transmitted to Earth by the measuring instruments of the Voyager and Pioneer 10 probes, or by the Mars rover Pathfinder.
